JUNIOR FIREFIGHTER OR JUNIOR EMT

Junior membership is extended to the successful applicant between the ages of 16 and 18 who have their parent's permission to participate in District activities.  Junior members attend the same training as regular members and participate in District functions.  The Junior membership program is an excellent avenue for younger members to begin their service to the communities that we serve, and to do so in a highly respected and progressive organization.

Firefighter candidates attend the Morris County Fire Academy and train in the Firefighter 1 curriculum with certain restrictions.  At age 18 candidates receive their full Firefighter 1 State of New Jersey Pro-Board/IFSAC certifications.  Fire Training courses run approximately 160 hours and run during the summer months.

EMT candidates attend the basic EMT program usually at the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy administered by Atlantic Training.  The course runs just over 200 hours and is held on weekends and occasional nights, while certain weekday courses are also available.  The candidate successfully completing the course is certified by the State of New Jersey as an EMT.

All training courses are paid for by the Fire District.
